PAI adds ATM fundraising functionality

Payment Alliance International (PAI), a provider of payment processing solutions, has added Digital Donations, a new ATM fundraising platform powered by Digital Processing Solutions (DPS).

PAI is offering Digital Donations functionality directly to retailers and to the PAI market partner reseller network nationwide, according to a company press release.

Users of ATMs with Digital Donations functionality can make tax-deductible charitable donations to national and local organizations, along with everyday transactions such as cash withdrawals, account balance inquiries, direct currency conversion and more.

“This is a big step forward in facilitating easy and painless fundraising for charities across the country,” said DPS President Keith Orlean. “Non-profits and their constituents will certainly appreciate the convenience and simplicity of this type of fundraising.”

Consumers at donation-accepting ATMs can make a contribution to one of seven 501(c)(3) charitable organizations in a preselected list, or select the “No thanks” option. Preset donation amounts range from as little as $2 up to $50. Once the transaction is processed, the donor receives a printed receipt to use for tax purposes.

“Adding the Digital Donations technology to ATMs is a game-changer for everyone involved,” said PAI President and CEO John J. Leehy III. “There are so many worthy causes that deserve our support. Now retailers and ATM operators have an efficient way to get involved and really do some good.”

The PAI Digital Donations ATM program can simultaneously support up to five national charities, one national emergency relief agency, and one local cause. Current program partners include the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Champions for Kids, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The American Heart Association and The Humane Society.

Alternate qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organizations can be approved and added quickly, the release said.
