The House will host a joint session for President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday. Government funding will remain the focal point of negotiations this week as the House and Senate return to session. The House has a punctuated week beginning with votes on Wednesday though most House Members will return earlier in the week to attend the State of the Union address. Votes are expected on Monday in the Senate. It’s understood that spending legislation will have to be effectively completed by the end of this week so both houses can complete consideration before a funding lapse at the end of the day, Friday, February 15.
