Legislation Considered Pursuant to a Rule:
H.R. 2534 Insider Trading Prohibition Act [PDF] Legislation would expand laws related to insider trading. The bill would address a 2014 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, U.S. v. Newman and expand provisions related to those who obtain nonpublic information by way of hacking or theft. Some modifications have been made to this bill since it advanced from House Financial Services Committee by voice vote. These changes include changing terminology related to the possession of material public information to awareness of material nonpublic information. Additionally, an allowance has been made for trades under SEC Rule 10b5-1 (trading plan scheduling).
H.Res. 326 Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives regarding United States efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a negotiated two-state solution [PDF] This resolution expresses the sense of the House related to a two state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Under this legislation new enhanced penalties would be made law to punish certain companies and individuals using automated dialing equipment for the purposes of artificial or prerecorded illegal unsolicited calls to certain phones. The legislation contains a variety of instructions for the FCC with relation to such robocalls.
