House Floor Activity

Legislation Considered Pursuant to a Rule:

H.R. 2 Moving Forward Act [PDF] This bill constitutes the House Democratic infrastructure legislative proposal, constituting $1.5 trillion in transportation, broadband, energy, and education infrastructure. The bill would also address funding struggles at the U.S. Postal Service. Roughly the values of programs included in the bill consist of $1 trillion in spending related to broadband, water infrastructure, and clean energy combined with a five-year extension of transportation infrastructure programs as approved by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

H.R. 1425 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act [PDF] This legislative package related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would make a variety of legislative changes positioned to expand the law and roll back administrative actions taken since 2017 related to the healthcare law. Amongst other provisions, it would expand Medicaid coverage, direct the government to negotiate drug prices, make available ACA subsidies to all households while increasing the value of such subsidies, make individuals receiving deferred action via the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program eligible for exchange plans, make permanent the federal funding for the CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), provide certain funding to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and make other changes.

H.R. 7301 Emergency Housing Protections and Relief Act of 2020 [PDF] This legislation would make changes to laws related to housing for homeowners, renters, and the homeless for the purpose of addressing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill would authorize appropriations of approximately $194 billion related to housing aid, expand upon previously instituted prohibitions of foreclosure and eviction, authorize new loans for federally supported rental properties, and make other changes to current law. These provisions were largely included in the HEROES Act as passed by the House in May.

H.R. 5332 Protecting Your Credit Score Act of 2019 [PDF] This legislation would revise and amend statute related to consumer credit reports and reporting agencies, requiring reporting agencies to create a central online portal related to consumer credit, disclose a free credit score when consumers request a free annual credit report, and create a variety of new regulatory authority under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

H.J. Res. 90 [PDF] This legislation would provide for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, U.S. Code (Congressional Review Act) of the rule from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) related to the Community Reinvestment Act. (85 Fed. Reg. 1204, January 9, 2020)
