Legislation Considered Pursuant to a Rule:

H.R. 7617 Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2021 [Defense, Commerce, Justice, Science, Energy and Water Development, Financial Services and General Government, Homeland Security, Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Act, 2021] [PDF] This legislative package, constituting the second minibus bill considered by the House of Representatives for FY 2021, would combine the legislative text of seven measures Approved by the House Appropriations Committee.

 

Legislation Considered Under Suspension of the Rules:

H.R. 7575  Water Resources Development Act of 2020, as amended [PDF] The Water Resources Development Act of 2020 authorizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to carry out various studies and projects, deauthorizes and modifies various other projects, and makes changes to the law for various water infrastructure policies.

  1. 2163 Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys Act [PDF] This bill would establish a Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys within the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. It would issue reports and proposals to address the conditions facing Black men, including recommended policy changes. This legislation has already passed the Senate and is a companion to H.R. 1636, offered by Rep. Frederica Wilson.

H.R. 2420 National Museum of the American Latino Act, as amended [PDF] This bill, sponsored by retiring member Rep. Jose Serrano, would create a National Museum of the American Latino as part of the Smithsonian Institution. The legislation would authorize appropriations of $20 million in FY 2021 and such sums as necessary in future years.

H.R. 4686 Sami’s Law, as amended [PDF] Named for a South Carolina college student named Samantha Josephson, Sami’s law would direct the Department of Transportation to withhold specified percentages of a state’s funding for certain federal-aided highway building if the state does not create and enforce TNC (transportation network company) vehicle identification laws for ride-sharing and ride-hailing.
