House Floor Activity

Special Scheduling Note:

Speaker Pelosi indicated in a dear colleague letter that the House may return this week to address legislation related to the United States Postal Service. According to Speaker Pelosi, “House Democratic Leader Hoyer will soon be announcing the legislative schedule for the coming week.” The House is expected to take up legislation from Oversight Chairwoman Maloney, the “Delivering for America Act.” The House may hold weekend session between the events of the Democratic and Republican conventions.

The House scheduling advisory related to a Coronavirus related deal stands with the promise to give Members 24-hours’ notice before the House is called back to session.

 

House Committee Activity

There are no committee meetings noticed in the House this week.

Special Scheduling Note:

The House may hold committee business related to the United States Postal Service, as Democratic leaders have indicated the need for an emergency hearing.

 

U.S. Senate

Senate Floor Activity

The Senate stands adjourned to convene for pro forma sessions with no business conducted on the following dates and times:

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #771, Brett H. Ludwig, of Wisconsin, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Ludwig nomination.

Cloture has been filed on the following nominations:

  1. Executive Calendar #771, Brett H. Ludwig, of Wisconsin, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
  2. Executive Calendar #772, Christy Criswell Wiegand, of Pennsylvania, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

  4. Executive Calendar #646, Thomas T. Cullen, of Virginia, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Virginia.
  5. Executive Calendar #358, Diane Gujarati, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
