Legislation Considered Under a Rule

Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 6395 – William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 [PDF] This legislation would make authorizations related to national defense and security among other provisions adopted in the conference agreement. The measure contains language related to a commission to study and provide recommendations related to the removal of certain representations that honor the Confederacy. The provision does not contain language repealing Sec. 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The measure contains several provisions related to financial services, commerce, and other matters. Senate Floor Activity
The Senate will next convene at 3:00pm on Monday, December 7th.

According to a unanimous consent agreement in the Senate, at 5:30 p.m. the cloture motions on the Schwartz nomination and the nomination of Nathan A. Simington, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years from July 1, 2019 ripen.

Following Leader remarks on Monday, December 7, 2020, the Senate will proceed to executive session and resume consideration of the nomination of Stephen Sidney Schwartz, of Virginia, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims for a term of fifteen years.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Schwartz nomination to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
