H.R. 1 For the People Act of 2021 [PDF] This measure, also passed during the 116th Congress, would make a variety of changes to law related to elections, campaign finance, government ethics, and other changes.

 

H.R. 1280 George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021 [PDF] This bill would facilitate civil action against police officers for alleged rights violations, criminalize chokeholds, prohibit the use of no-knock warrants, and prohibit the transfer of military equipment to law enforcement entities.

Senate Floor Activity

The Senate stands adjourned until 3:00pm on Monday, March 1, 2021.

 

Following the prayer and pledge, we expect that Sonceria Ann Berry will be sworn in as Secretary of the Senate.

 

Following the swearing-in and Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #16, Miguel A. Cardona, of Connecticut, to be Secretary of Education.

 

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Cardona nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #8, Gina Marie Raimondo, of Rhode Island, to be Secretary of Commerce.

 

Cloture has also been filed on Executive Calendar #13, Cecilia Elena Rouse, of New Jersey, to be Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

 

Monday March 1st at 5:30pm – 2 roll call votes:
